Founding member of the Classic Jazz Rock fusion group: Piktor's Metamorphosis, bassist/composer Brian Mooney in his late teens studied harmony, physiology, and improvisation wih Gerald Carboy (bassist for fusion pioneers Barry Miles and David Sancious & Tone).
On both Electric and Double Bass Brian's experience spans Jazz, Fusion, Soul, ProgRock, R&B/Funk, Latin, Classical, Pop, & Rock both live and in the studios.
Performed live and/or in the studio and with many artists including recent projects: Neil Alexandar & NAIL, Shueh-li Ong, Monroe Quinn, Rob Paparozzi, Glenn Alexander (Jan Hammer/Stretch), Premik Russell Tubbs, Res Abassi, Vin Scialla, Bernard Purdie, Ritchie "LaBamba" Rosenberg & Mark Pender (Conan O'Brien), and countless others.
Brian has also founded the super exciting jazz rock fusion group Piktor's Metamorphosis back in 2007 which is still active performing around North America. Brian produced the first live album for Piktor's Metamorphosis in 2011 which has received excellent reviews.
Was a member of the progressive rock group Advent which he performed live and also appears on the 2015 album titled 'Silent Sentinel'
He is available for musical colaborations, private instruction, studio recording, video shoots, live performance, and production.
